Oh you definitely need to visit Vienna!
Should be going next February! Combining it with Budapest and possibly some of Germany. Anything you recommend I should do or see?
Ok besides all of the typical sights you’ll probabaly visit (Prater, Inner City, maybe zoo) you should go have dinner at a Heuriger, there are two which are pretty good, ‘Renner’ and ‘Feuerwehr-Wagner’ both in the 19th district. There you’ll get real viennoise cuisine 😀
And you should enjoy the view over Vienna at Wilhelminenberg or it’s called the sky, it’s an area on a hill, but I’m not sure if it’s as beautiful in winter as it is in summer (:
I’ll think of other places which could be nice for someone who has never been to Vienna (:
Thanks for the tips for an authentic restaurant! If you do have time and think of some more places I should see or things to do then feel free to email me using the ‘contact’ tab at the top of the page 🙂
Great, I will think of some other places too, I was just a bit tired when I wrote that yesterday so I couldn’t think of many 😀
As a female traveler who has traveled alone and has done couchsurfing I suggest you combine those in one trip! You get to set up your own plans but still have someone to eat dinner with, or go out at night!
Great idea thank you for the tip – I like the idea of spending some time alone but don’t won’t to be lonely at dinner. Did you find couchsurfing solo quite safe?
Yeah, I’ve had no problem with safety yet. Some of my hosts were single guys but all of them were pretty great and I never felt threatened in any way. Keep in mind that refferences from previous surfers help a lot when it comes to choosing your host.
What a nice list you got there 😀
Thanks, and likewise!
Personally I would scribble out Rome (Italy) on your bucket list and change it to Plovdiv (Bulgaria)… Rome was full of beggars, pickpockets, scammers and smelt of cat piss at most of the Roman ruins! It may sound harsh, but I wouldn’t rush back to Rome anytime soon! Plovdiv in mid-Bulgaria on the other hand was stunning (and Bulgarian food and drinks were amazing)… And Plovdiv has a lot of the Roman relics and history too.
