Here are the lovely awards I have been nominated for by the even lovelier blogging community. Check out this post and this post for all my acknowledgements and nominations. And the Easyjet Blogger of the Month badge was for one of my posts on Mallorca.
The latest award I have received was generously given to me by Eleanor of Star Spangled Dreams. Rules state (see here) that I should state 7 things about me and nominate 15 bloggers to pass the award to. So here it goes:
1. I am finally getting round to writing a bucket list out on paper…
2. I can’t walk in high heels. Always a bad idea. Viva la flip flop!
3. Really want to get a tuk tuk as a little run-around!
4. I’m off to Gozo, near Malta, at the end of June (not long to go now!!)
5. You can follow me on Twitter for travel updates and the odd design-related tweet @sarahryan85.
6. My favourite colour is sometimes green, sometimes blue.
7. My bedroom is decorated like a Thai spa… basically a place where I can display all the things I brought back!
And I would like to nominate and recommend the following blogs to receive the award:
Anotherdayinparadise, Emily Luxton, EcoGrrl, 1001 Scribbles, Wanderlust Gene, Arash Recovery, Jaraline’s World Journey, SethSnap, Breathtaking Memories, Noelia Madiedo Photography, Christian V. Photography, The World is a Book, Sky Sense, Retireediary, Shmamaland.
Blueribbonfair recently nominated me for the WordPress Family Award. A lovely concept to acknowledge the community spirit of WordPress bloggers.
The creator of the award has this to say:
‘This is an award for everyone who is part of the “WordPress Family” I started this award on the basis that the WordPress family has taken me in, and showed me love and a caring side only WordPress can. The way people take a second to be nice, to answer a question and not make things a competition amazes me here. I know I have been given many awards, but I wanted to leave my own legacy on here by creating my own award, as many have done before. This represents “Family” we never meet, but are there for us as family. It is my honour to start this award. Thank you Shaun @ http://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com/
So I have nominated you and you want to participate and show off your award? Here are the directions:
1. Display the award logo on your blog (see above).
2. Link back to the person who nominated you (also see above!)
3. Nominate 10 others who have positively impacted your WordPress experience.
4. Don’t forget to let your WordPress family members know of your nomination.
5. That’s it! Just pick 10 people that have accepted you as a friend, and spread the love!
And here are my top five nominations, in no particular order, for The WordPress Family Award:
Mike Lince of Applecore fame rolled out the honours for the Most Influential Blogger Award, most gratefully received and made me smile. I am lucky to have been to so many places already in my life but hard work and determination got me to each and every place. You can achieve anything and go anywhere if you put your mind to it, and if your heart is truly in it. So with those words in mind, and instead of formal nominations, I would like to dedicate this award to all of the shoe-string travel bloggers who have inspired me so far. And as the questions were pretty imaginative here’s my take:
If you could create your own planet what would it look like?
It would look like Earth but without all the mess, rubbish and pollution.
If you could visit one nation you have never visited before, what nation would that be?
Central America – Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatamala…
Have you ever taken a long distance train trip?
A sleeper train from Bangkok to Chaing Mai. In the middle of the night we were woken up told to get onto the tracks with our bags – pretty scary moment! Turns out there was a derailment further up the line and we were put onto a replacement bus but this was difficult to work out in Thai when you have been abruptly woken up and told to line up with all of your possessions!
What is something you would collectively change about humanity?
General nastiness is not welcome in my books. Just play nice!
What is your favorite song?
Little Baby Nothing by Manic Street Preachers
If you could meet one person who is still alive who would you choose to meet?
Hmmm I would love to meet Richard Branson – he has a pretty amazing life but we worked hard for it too.
If you could choose one symbol to represent you, what would that symbol be and why? Hmm an onion? Lots of layers hahaha!!!
